What does it mean to be human in an era shaped by artificial intelligence, gene editing, and rapidly evolving biomedical innovation? For Dr. Piyali Mitra, this is not simply a theoretical question—it is a guiding thread that runs through her research, teaching, editorial work, and global academic engagement.
Dr. Mitra is a bioethicist and philosopher whose work lies at the intersection of AI ethics, reproductive ethics, personhood, religion, and public policy. Trained in philosophy with a PhD from the University of Calcutta, she brings together classical philosophical traditions and contemporary technological debates to ask some of the most pressing ethical questions of our time.
